So after almost five years with Site5, I have opened a web hosting account with Bluehost. Suffice it to say that my patience for hosting companies who expect me to drop everything and diagnose/fix a problem that one competent sysadmin could easily quarantine is minimal. Send obnoxious threats to close my account for not performing the task you assigned me quickly enough, and I’m out. Smell ya later, Site5!
So, if you’re reading this and I host a website for you, I will be in touch with you soon to get the nameservers associated with your domain updated.
In other news, I took this opportunity to ditch Tumblr, which has been experiencing some major scaling issues lately and whose uptime never quite impressed me. I always really liked working with Textpattern, so I’m back to that for now. I’m not sure what I’ll do about old posts — which will get archived here and which won’t, but please bear with me as I work out the kinks.
